Parantapah
Parantapah
Krsna calls Arjuna in Bhagavad-Gita as Parantapah means one who is capable of chastising his enemies. So Bhagavad-Gita was spoken to Parantapah – the one who was capable of chastising his enemies, but kept aside his Gandiva bow and thus giving great joy to his enemies. Actually, soul is superior energy of Krsna (Bg.7.5 – apareyam itas tv anyam) and thus capable of overcoming the illusions of maya. Matter is inferior energy of Krsna. Living entity in conditioned stage of life is subdued by matter and is giving great joy to his enemy by serving matter. Living entity is always superior to this enemy (illusions).
In this age of Kali-Yuga, the only weapon living entity has is the Holy name of Krsna – Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. If we leave aside this weapon, then we will give great joy to Maya and it’s agents. Bead bag is like the Gandiva bow, chanting Hare Krsna is compared to ultimate weapon (arrow), the association of devotees is our chariot and spiritual master – who is representative of Krsna is our Sarthi. So we have to sit on the chariot of association of devotees, guided by our spiritual master, pickup the bow and shoot the arrows, knowing well that it will please Guru & Krsna. Maya is also devotee of Krsna and will try her best to weaken the Parantapah. Knowing this we shall never drop our weapon, but continue fighting with illusory energy by loudly calling Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
